Back in 2015 we started a small soda company called Rootside Soda producing a line of soda syrups made with fresh and whole ingredients. One of our early supporters was Vancouver’s Odd Society Spirits (the makers of BC’s first Vermouth) where, in early 2017, we attended a Vermouth centric event at their distillery. This event opened the flood gates to the magical, weird and awesome world of apéritif wines and vermouth. There was no turning back. We just had to start making vermouth ourselves.

We spent the next 2.5 years deep-diving into botanical research, recipe development and wine making in order to make our Rosso Vermouth (launched July 2019). The first 2 batches sold out within a day of their release. Expect to see lots more weird, herbal, apéritif wines in 2020/2021.
